G1 Mass Rescue Conference Report
INTERNATIONAL MARITIME RESCUE FEDERATION CONFERENCE ON MASS RESCUE AT SEA, GOTHENBURG 7-8 JUNE 2010: CONFERENCE REPORT Concerns about the challenges presented by mass rescue incidents around the world led the International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF) to organise a conference on the subject, held in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 7-8 June 2010. 121 delegates attended, from 36 different countries, with expertise in many different areas of maritime operations.(See Annex A for attendee list.) This conference, conceived as the first in a series on the subject, was designed to enable an initial overall review of mass rescue operations at sea. It was very ably hosted by the Swedish Sea Rescue Society (SSRS).
