5th Annual Search And Rescue 2017 Summit
Defence IQ has just announced the event programme for the 5th Annual Search and Rescue 2017 Summit (Copenhagen, 30th May - 1st June 2017).
2016 has been a significant year for SAR operators, with 2017 likely to be just as challenging. They have seen the continuation of the migrant and refugee crisis in the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas, as well as several tragic, high-profile incidents such as the Puma Crash off the Norwegian Coast in 2016 that have drawn SAR operations into the public eye. These missions have highlighted the need for mass-rescue capability, as well as the most rapid location and response times feasible.
The SAR 2017 senior speaker panel, will be joined by:

|•||Mr. Lars Widell, Deputy SAR Director - Swedish Maritime Administration|
|•||Mr. Karel Nemec, Head of RCC Slovakia - LPS SR|
|•||Group Captain Shabbir Ahmad, SAR Coordinator Karachi Airport - Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority|
They will provide exclusive insight into:

|•||The vessels and air platforms utilised in SAR missions, and how their capabilities can be augmented and adapted to meet certain mission requirements|
|•||The use of Unmanned Systems in SAR operations, and the legislative hurdles that must be overcome before they can be utilised to their full potential|
They hope to welcome you at this important meeting alongside fellow SAR operators and subject matter experts, who are driving change and innovation in the field of SAR operations, strategy and supply.
