Being rescued from a large passenger will always involve improvisation, but the success and effectiveness of this improvisation is determined by a thorough planning. This research used the World Trade Center disaster as a case study in which three forms of improvisation is described. Although this not direct a maritime rescue operation study the use of the several forms of improvisation can also be adapted to maritime rescue operations.
