Case Studies Sought

Posted in MRO News

In the October 2014 edition of LIFE LINE we reported on the international project on 'Vessel Triage' being led by the Finnish Border Guard. (Please see the newsletter archive.)

The primary purpose of the project is to help overcome the problems of misunderstanding that can occur in the early stages of an incident, when it may not be clear to a Rescue Coordination Centre what sort of help is needed by the vessel in trouble. The 'vessel triage' concept enables the simple classification of the incident into what the project team hope will become a globally understood and accepted system.

boatsThe team have now developed the procedure to the point where it can be tested – and for this they need your help!

If you are planning an exercise in the next couple of months, or if you are willing to review a past incident or exercise and apply the vessel triage process to it, please contact the project team at vesseltriage@raja.fi.
